About Us

The Problem We're Solving

Traditionally, student-athletes have been excluded from study abroad programs because of:

  • Rigid training schedules that leave little room for time away
  • Lack of structured support from institutions to help athletes navigate the process
  • Coach resistance rooted in concerns about missed training time

Our Solution

Athletes Abroad Foundation makes it possible for student-athletes to study abroad without falling behind — athletically or academically — through:

  • Structured training programs abroad, so athletes can stay on track with their sport while overseas
  • Academic integration, ensuring coursework fits seamlessly into the study abroad experience
  • Coach-aligned support systems, building trust and buy-in from coaching staff

Who We Serve

  • NCAA Division II & Division III athletes
  • Universities
  • Health & wellness professionals

The Founder & Executive Director

Austin Jubran, MBA

Austin Jubran, MBA, is the Founder and Executive Director of Athletes Abroad Foundation, a nonprofit expanding access to international education for student-athletes. He works to remove the financial, cultural, and informational barriers that keep young athletes from studying abroad, with a vision to empower global leaders through athletics, education, and international experience.

Austin earned his Global MBA from The American College of the Mediterranean (ACM), in partnership with the Institute for American Universities (IAU), focusing on international business and cross-cultural collaboration. As a Graduate Fellow with IAU, he supported international students and program development.

He is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with five-plus years coaching in premium fitness environments, including Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, California, where he trained 60+ clients, led group sessions of up to 40 participants, and developed sport-specific programs for collegiate field hockey and lacrosse teams. This passion for coaching led him to instruct at the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo, creating "Rise & Move: Morning Activation Series," a wellness program for education professionals.

Austin's career spans international partnership development and student recruitment across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa—experience shaped by living, studying, and working abroad himself.

He believes sport is a universal language that connects cultures and builds globally minded leaders, and is committed to giving every student-athlete access to the life-changing impact of international education.
